아들 이삭을 바치라는 하나님의 시험 창세기 22장

창세기 22장은 하나님이 아브라함을 시험하기 위해 아들 이삭을 모리아 산으로 데려가 번제물로 바치라고 합니다. 이에 아브라함은 망설임 없이 아들을 데리고 가서 번제물로 바치려고 하고 하나님은 그만하면 됐다 하시고 그에게 엄청난 축복을 내리는 내용입니다.

 

 

하나님의 시험 모리아 산으로

 

 

창세기 21장 내용보기

 

1. After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, " Abraham!" and he said, "Here am I."

2. He said, " Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

3. So Abraham rose early in the morning , saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Isaac. And he cut the wood for the burnt offering and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.

 

하나님이 아브라함에게 이삭을 데리고 모리아 산에 가서 제사 비슷한 것을 올리라고 하십니다. 그래서 아브라함이 일찍 일어나 번제물을 가지고 모리아 산으로 향합니다. 여기서 가장 놀랍고 끔찍한 사실은 아들 이삭을 바치기 위해 데리고 갔다는 것입니다. 하나님은 왜 그토록 잔인한 실험을 하는지 모르겠고 그에 절대복종을 하는 아브라함도 아이러니하기 짝이 없습니다.

 

 

 

 묶여있을 이삭의 공포를 생각하니

 

4. On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place from afar.

5.Then Abraham said to his young men, " Stay here with the donkey; I and the boy will go over there and worship and come again to you."

6. And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son. And he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So they went both of them together.

7. And Isaac said to his father Abraham, "My father!" And he said, "Here am I, my son." He said, "Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for aburnt offering?"

8. Abraham said, "God will provide for himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son." So they went both of them together.

 

하나님을 직접 보고 그의 능력을 경험한 아브라함이라면 하나님이 시키는 모든 일을 그대로 따랐을 것 같긴 합니다. 늦게 낳은 소중한 아들 이삭도 하나님께서 점지해 주셨으니 그에 대한 믿음이야 확고했겠지만요. 그렇다 해도 아들을 제물로 바치라는데 일말의 망설임도 없이 아들을 제단에 꽁꽁 묶고 칼과 불을 들이대고 있었으니 이삭의 공포가 어땠을지 상상조차 하기 힘듭니다. 진짜 너무한단 생각밖에 들지 않는 에피소드입니다.

 

 뛰는 하나님 위에 나는 아브라함?

 

 

 

9. When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built the altar there and laid the wood in order and bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.

10. Then Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to slaughter his son.

 

slaughter: 학살, 도살하다.

 

아들을 죽이려는 순간 주의 천사가 나타나 아이에게 일절 손을 대지 말라고 하십니다. 마치 뛰는 하나님 위에 나는 아브라함을 보는 것처럼 예상치를 완전히 벗어난 행동을 한 것이죠.

 

11. But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" And he said, "Here am I."

12.He said, "Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me."

13. And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son.

14. So Abraham called the name of that place, "The Lord will provide"; as it is said to this day, "On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided."

 

천사의 만류에 아브라함은 아들을 죽이는 대신 눈에 띄는 숫양을 보고 즉각 뿔을 잡아 아들 대신 번제물로 바칩니다. 하늘에서는 감동의 도가니였을 겁니다. 이 모습을 보고 감동한 하나님이 또 한 번 아브라함에게 축복을 내립니다.

 

 

 

 감동에 감동을 받은 하늘님들의 약속

 

15. And the angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven.

16. and said, "By myself I have sworn, declares the Lord, because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,

17. I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies, 

18. and in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice."

19. So Abraham returned to his young men, and they arose and went together to Beersheba. And Abraham lived at Beersheba.

 

하늘의 천사가 거듭 아브라함에게 축복을 약속하는 구절입니다. 생각하건대 하늘의 행성에서 뭐 저런 놈이 다 있지? 저 인간은 정말로 믿을만하다. 그러니 아브라함에게 통치를 맡기면 될 것이다. 저 혈통으로 정해야겠다,라는 결정을 내리지 않았을까 싶습니다.

 

 

  아브라함 동생 부부도 자손 번창

 

20. Now after these things it was told to Abraham, "Behold, Milcah also has borne children to your brother Nahor: 

21. Uz his firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel the father of Aram,

22. Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel."

23.(Bethuel fathered Rebekah.) These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

24. Moreover, his concubine, whose name was Reumah, bore Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.

 

하나님의 축복이 아브라함에 그치지 않고 아브라함의 동생 나홀과 그의 아내 밀가에게도 이어져 그들이 자손을 낳는다는 내용입니다. 대략 족보는 생략하고요.

 

  창세기 22장 리뷰

 

창세기 22장은 짧지만 임팩트가 강한 에피소드가 들어 있습니다. 기독교 목사들은 창세기 22장의 내용을 소재로 교인들에게 엄청난 열강을 하실게 뻔해 보일 정도입니다. 물론 사이비 교주들도 이 장을 주야장천 활용하겠죠. 아브라함은 자기 자식까지 하나님께 바쳤다고 말입니다. 너무 위험하고 무모한 에피소드라고 생각합니다. 나이도 그리 어리지 않았을 이삭이 받을 상처는 생각지도 않는가 봅니다.
