인생을 바꾼 라합의 붉은끈 여호수아 2장 후편

여호수아 2장은 기생 라합의 도움을 받아 승리를 이끌었기에 하나님을 믿으면 구원의 길이라고 교훈을 주는 것 같지만요. 보다 단순하게 표현하면 하나님 편을 들면 민족을 배반해도 된다가 되는 겁니다. 그러니까 하나님을 인정하면 누구든 새로운 기회를 얻을 수 있다는 거죠. 이게 요즘 세상에는 통하기나 할까 싶습니다. 하지만 한 번의 선택이 순간의 선택을 좌우한다는 완전 공감입니다.

 

 

탈출을 돕다

15. Then she let them down by a rope through the window, for her house was built into the city wall, so that she lived in the wall. 16 And she said to them, "Go into the hills, or the pursuers will encounter you, and hide there three days until the pursuers have returned. Then afterwards you may go your way." 17 The men said to her, "We will be guiltless with respect to this oath of yours that you have made us swear. 18 Behold, when we come into the land, you shall tie this scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and you shall gather into your house your father and mother, your brothers, and all your father's hosehold. 19 Then if anyone goes out of the doors of your hose into the street, his blood shall be on his own head, and we shall be guiltless. But if a hand is laid on anyone who is with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head. 20 But if you tell this business of ours, then we shall be guiltless with respect to your oath that you have made us swear." 21 And she said, "According to your words, so be it." Then she sent them away, and they departed. And she tied the scarlet cord in the window.

 

 

라합은 이스라엘 정탐꾼들과 먼저 모종의 합의를 한 후에 밧줄로 탈출을 도왔습니다. 그리고 정탐꾼들은 탈출 후 창문에 붉은색 끈을 매달아 놓았습니다. 이는 이스라엘 군대가 쳐들어 왔을 때 붉은 끈을 보면 보호해주겠다고 약속했기 때문입니다. 여리고 군대가 이를 알았다면 즉시 처형당했을 텐데요. 이스라엘 백성들은 유월절에 문설주에 어린양의 피를 발라 놓잖아요. 북은색은 구원의 표식인가 봅니다.

 탈출 성공

22 They departed and went into the hills and remained there three days until the pursuers returnde, and the pursuers searched all along the way and found nothing. 23 Then the two men returned. They came down from the hills and passed over and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and they told him all that had happened to them. 24 And they said to Joshua, "Truly the Lord has given all the land into our hands. And also, all the inhabitants of the land melt away because of us."

 

 

그렇게 여리고 민족의 배신자 라합의 도움으로 이스라엘 정탐꾼들은 무사히 탈출하였습니다. 그들은 언덕에서 3일동안 숨어 지내다 무사 귀환 한 것 같쥬? 뭔가 만족스러웠는지 정탐꾼들은 여호와께서 그 땅을 우리 손에 넘겨주셨고 자신들에게 녹아들었다, 뭐 그렇게 득의만만한 뉘앙스입니다. 다음 장이 기대됩니다.
